Our Story

Delightful. Colourful. Playful.

My story begins with a love for Shweshwe. The bold colours, timeless patterns and fabric that brings so much joy. It is the heart of my brand and the starting point of every collection created. 

I design and crafted children's clothing that celebrates play, comfort and individuality. Each piece is thoughtfully made to allow children to move freely, to feel comfortable and simply be children exploring the outdoors or enjoying everyday moments.

While Shweshwe remains the signature, I occasionally introduce fabrics for everyday essentials for warmer and colder days. These pieces are intentionally simple and designed to pair beautifully with the Shweshwe garments. Every fabric choice is guided by comfort, practicality and a harmonious look.

The garments are made on order with attention to detail, quality finishes and a focus on wearability. I believe clothing should feel as good as it looks. Easy to dress, easy to care for and loved long after the first wear. 

 At the core of this brand is a commitment to thoughtful design, craftmanship and clothing that children and women can return to again and again.

I believe that the effortless charm of childhood should extend to every woman. The women's collection is designed for modern woman who values both timeless style and everyday comfort, offering versatile pieces that move with you from morning routines to evening escapes. 

Minilu is more than just a brand; it is a tribute to my three extraordinary granddaughters. Their spirit of joy and curiosity is woven into each garment I create.

My goal is to primarily source fabrics made in South Africa, such as Shweshwe from Zwelitsha EC and the brushed fleece and ribbing from Cape Town.
